It is the best-selling reggae album of all time (10 times Platinum in the USA), with sales exceeding 20 million copies. The original compilation, which was first released on LP, features 14 songs in their edited single format. Legend holds the distinction of being the second-longest charting album in Billboard magazine's history. By combining its chart life on the Billboard 200 album charts and the Top Pop Catalog charts, Legend had a chart run of 958 non-consecutive weeks, second only to Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon, which has over 1500 weeks.
