Lake Edersee

Not far from Kassel, in beautiful North Hesse, lies the 27 km long Edersee, one of the largest reservoirs in Europe. With its excellent water quality, the Edersee attracts countless water sports enthusiasts and nature lovers every year. It is a true paradise for anglers, divers, and sailors. Located in the Kellerwald-Edersee National Park, the region offers a variety of hiking trails and circular routes around the Edersee and within the national park. For example, the certified quality path, the Urwaldsteig, leads around the Edersee and offers stunning views of the lake along with all the features that define a quality trail. The region also provides beautiful cycling paths, such as those around the Edersee or connecting to the regional cycling network. The popular cycling and hiking map of Edersee has been updated and revised and is newly published in its 11th edition. The front side of the detailed hiking map presents a clear overview of all hiking trails in the national park and around the Edersee. On the back of the map, a separate cycling map at a scale of 1:40,000 clearly displays the cycling routes at the Edersee from Korbach to Naumburg and from Frankenau to Bad Wildungen.
