This book presents various instruments for competence-oriented feedback, as systematically tested and further developed in the Hamburg school experiment "alles Könner." The instruments are used in schools that provide competence-oriented feedback on individual learning processes to their students, both with and without grades. These include learning success assessments, learning diaries, portfolios, reflection discussions, learning development conversations, and competence grids. The authors share their teaching experiences with these instruments, which follow the different phases of a self-directed learning process: planning, executing, reflecting, and documenting. In interviews and reports, they describe how the individual instruments can work together to create a learning-enhancing feedback system. The volume consolidates exemplary experiences to assist teachers.
