Product details
Forests, meadows, gorges, vineyards, mountains, and lakes, the famous Black Forest farms and typical towns – the diversity of landscapes and the professional hiking network make the Black Forest an extremely attractive hiking region. A total of 24,000 km of hiking trails are marked in the Black Forest. The Black Forest North/Central Nature Park is Germany's largest nature park (3,750 km²), with the highest mountain being Hornisgrinde (1,163 m) near Mummelsee along the Black Forest High Road, and the most well-known and largest valley is the Kinzigtal. The metropolitan area of the Northern Black Forest is Pforzheim, while Offenburg, the carnival stronghold on the Kinzig, is the largest city in the central Black Forest. Typical for the Northern Black Forest are also the cirque lakes, with the largest water sports lakes being the Schwarzenbach and Nagold reservoirs. The Triberg Waterfalls, Germany's highest waterfalls, are located here. In the south of the Black Forest holiday region, the highest mountains of the Black Forest await with Feldberg (1,493 m), Belchen, Schauinsland, and Herzogenberg. Schluchsee and Titisee are attractive excursion destinations. The Black Forest South Nature Park encompasses the area between Triberg in the north, the Rhine in the west, and Waldshut-Tiengen in the south.
