The federal state offers magnificent opportunities for cycling between the Baltic Sea beach and the lake district. Popular long-distance cycling routes such as the Berlin-Usedom Cycle Route, the Oder-Neisse Cycle Route, and the Baltic Coast Cycle Route cross the Vorpommern mainland. The Vorpommern Bodden Landscape National Park protects the coastal area of the Baltic Sea and the Bodden waters between the Darss-Zingst peninsula and the west coast of Rügen. The crane migrations in autumn are particularly impressive.
