The map indicates the British zone, American zone, French zone, Russian zone, the Königsberg district, and a Polish zone. How did this come about? On June 5, 1945, the Berlin conference of the Allied forces' commanders took place. During this meeting, the division of the occupation zones, which was confirmed at the Yalta Conference in February 1945, was established. In early July 1945, the change of occupying powers occurred in Thuringia.
