Product details
In the Elbe Sandstone Mountains of Saxon Switzerland lies one of Germany's most popular hiking stages. The eighteen-kilometer section between the Lichtenhainer Waterfall and Schmilka is considered the king stage - a route that has enjoyed tourist fame for two hundred years and captivated artists of the Romantic era, including Caspar David Friedrich. The hiking map "Malerweg" presents the eponymous trail in a concertina design, which leads through the Elbe Sandstone Mountains. The starting point is Liebethal on the right bank of the Elbe, and after sixty kilometers, the Elbe is crossed, with the Malerweg continuing on the left bank towards the destination Pirna. The information section of the Malerweg map divides the entire route into eight stages to enjoy the unique rock landscape of the Saxon Switzerland National Park.
