First published in 2007, it serves as a useful companion for hikers and tourists looking to explore the Appenzellerland. The map was first revised in 2011. Now, the third completely revised edition follows: The Association of Appenzell Ausserrhoder Hiking Trails (VAW) has reviewed the entire trail network. Not only have all hiking trails and route descriptions been updated, but there are also notes on trail conditions, information on public transport stops, and many useful tips. The map is based on the original dataset at a scale of 1:25,000 from the Federal Office of Topography swisstopo.
