Product details
Julius Kugy (1858 – 1944) experienced the Julian Alps largely as terra incognita, a high alpine realm of the golden chamois Zlatorog. Today, the Julian Alps, named not after the alpine pioneer but much earlier after the Roman family of the Julii, are known as a well-developed paradise for hikers and climbers, which has also received necessary protection with the Triglav National Park. Similarly wild and rugged, but much less known, are the neighboring Eastern Julian Alps. Both mountain ranges form the alpine region of Slovenia, which borders Austria (Carinthia) and Italy (Friuli) – now a boundless area for nature and outdoor activities. KOMPASS now presents both regions with a map title at a scale of 1:75,000. The KOMPASS hiking maps impress with GPS-accurate and up-to-date maps for easy orientation, all the essential information for outdoor enthusiasts, and are printed on tear- and weather-resistant paper.
