The Schwarzatal is one of the most diverse valleys in the Thüringer Wald / Thüringer Schiefergebirge region. Romance, a varied landscape, and largely unspoiled nature, along with picturesque villages rich in history, characterize this beautiful area between the Rennsteig and the Saale, and further up into the mountains towards Herschdorf and Oberweissbach, Grossbreitenbach, and Neuhaus. The region is also known as the land of olities. In the 17th and 18th centuries, the residents ventured to market their knowledge of the healing powers of plants. They produced olities - tinctures, plasters, and powders. Even today, these plants can be found, some of which are protected. It is undisputed that the area still releases healing powers - "in case of emergency" also with the support of a strong sip of herbs. The hiking maps have been developed based on tourist, landscape, and geographical aspects. The scale of 1:30,000 allows for high accuracy and detail fidelity. The topographic map includes the exact path markings of all hiking trails and cycling routes, as well as information on tourist attractions and offerings. Features of the landscape, elevation data, and old field names are noted. Well-known spots and hidden gems are all reflected in it. On the colorful illustrated back of the maps, alongside descriptions of towns and landscapes, there are hiking suggestions. The handy maps (48 x 68 cm) are printed on special map paper. They were created in collaboration with the tourism organizations of the region.
