Gallo rosso

Europe is on the brink of lockdown in February 2020. The question of why his girlfriend had to die in an explosion at the Christmas market has given Inspector Kilian no peace for years. He has taken leave of absence and is pursuing Gallo rosso in Italy, a mysterious mafia boss whom no one wants to know. His search takes him to Naples, Rome, Turin, to baby mafiosi, prostitutes and priests. Heinlein, by now police chief in Würzburg, is convinced that his colleague Kilian is chasing a myth. But after a suicide attack on an ICE train, he also comes across the name Gallo. His investigations lead to the Darknet and to right-wing networks, also in the ranks of the police. Both tracks lead to Venice, where Kilian and Heinlein finally meet again in the sealed-off lagoon city.
