The cycling map 'Weimar' is a completely new product from 'grünes herz' Ilmenau. For the first time, it presents the cycling region around the city of classics as a topographic map in a user-friendly scale of 1:50,000 on a 90 x 63 cm sheet. It extends from Grossrudestedt and Buttelstedt in the north, Erfurt in the west, as well as Bad Sulza and Jena in the east, down to Kranichfeld, Blankenhain, and Rothenstein in the south. The map displays the surfaces of the cycling routes in three different quality levels. Cycle paths, car-free routes, and cycling routes on public roads and paths are color-coded. Additionally, unavoidable gaps with higher vehicle traffic, unsuitable or closed paths and roads, as well as inclines are marked. All this information is a valuable aid for tour planning. The color coding highlights the course of the long-distance cycling routes, whose marking symbols have also been included in the map. At the same time, the cycling routes are provided with distance information, and for long-distance routes, also with long-distance indications between two important stations. Worthwhile destinations and sights are marked with symbols and appropriately labeled. The back of the map introduces the region with words and images and offers various excursion tips as well as worthwhile cycling tour suggestions of varying lengths and difficulty levels. The special feature of this map is that it is printed on water- and tear-resistant as well as recyclable material. Another positive side effect of the new material: The map is one third lighter than conventional map paper.
