The National Bank Act (NBG) forms the basis for the existence, organization, and activities of the Swiss National Bank (SNB). It dates back to 1905, and the last complete revision of the law came into effect in 2004. The Federal Act on Currency and Legal Tender (WZG) has been in force since 2000. This act consolidated all provisions regarding Swiss currency that were previously scattered across various regulations. This work provides a comprehensive commentary on the revised NBG and the WZG for the first time.
