Professional difficulties and coping strategies. Judges and lawyers often face - sometimes similar, sometimes different - professional challenges and moral dilemmas. Such moral dilemmas arise when a person must choose between two moral values that exclude each other in a given situation. Coping strategies need to be developed for these situations. However, judges and lawyers can hardly derive guidelines from professional journals or courses for this purpose. In this publication on the topic, judges, lawyers, and legal psychologists describe the professional difficulties, moral dilemmas, and coping attempts of judges and lawyers in the fields of civil and criminal law. The book highlights the spectrum between law and psychology. In their practical work, judges and lawyers are confronted not only with legally complex issues but also with interpersonal conflicts, emotional burdens, and moral dilemmas. The book views professional difficulties as a normal part of professional life. Conflicts and burdens are - like professional successes or resources - a part of the working world.
