Product details
On January 1, 2009, the Federal Act on Family Allowances came into force. This has led to far-reaching legal developments, as the previously very different cantonal family allowance regulations have been largely standardized by the new federal framework law. The Family Allowance Act now regulates all essential aspects of this branch of social insurance. It addresses eligibility, competing claims, the admission of family compensation funds, financing, legal protection, and the relationship to European law. Family allowances have significant practical importance, but the newly established Family Allowance Act is not always easy to implement. Therefore, the development of a legal commentary became necessary. The two authors base their commentary on the legislative materials (particularly the extensive commission minutes) and comprehensively incorporate case law and literature. They also take into account the directives of the Federal Social Insurance Office. The authors clearly outline the differences and developments compared to the previous law. Examples illustrate the results of the legal interpretation. The clear structure of the commentary facilitates the search for answers. The book includes a comprehensive index. This is the first time that a thorough, comprehensive, and helpful commentary on the new Family Allowance Act has been published.
