Product details
In times of the German air raids on England, the Churchill assault tank replaced its predecessor Matilda II in 1941. However, it was not based on a modern tank concept.
This led to constant problems with the engine, gearbox and drive, which did not contribute to an increase in its popularity with the troops. Thanks to constant improvements and conversions, Churchill was nevertheless able to hold its own and was only decommissioned in 1952. Nigel Montgomery offers the reader in this volume all information about the "Churchill" as well as other tank cars in British service.
