Product details
In the various contributions of this volume, an attempt is made to address the diverse facets of the themes of emotionality and spirituality from an inter- and transdisciplinary perspective. According to the different contributions in this volume, the experience of emotions and spirituality reveals the unity of body and mind. Emotions color all our contents of consciousness more than we are aware of. Without feelings, our world would be as cold and sterile as the world of computers and machines. Spiritual experience is further elaborated as a purely subjective phenomenon that is not tangible in its appearance. Today, the concept of spirituality encompasses various facets: on one hand, it relates to a religious, Christian way of life, which stands in contrast to the physical and forms part of Paul's tripartite concept of "flesh-psychic-spiritual." On the other hand, it also describes the attempt to explore modes of being and knowledge of immaterial beings (in contrast to the physical or material). Finally, the so-called "spiritualia," namely the functions and goods belonging to the Church, form a legal contrast to the "temporalia," the worldly goods. Thus, spirituality also gains a legal dimension. In its diversity, the term becomes a link between body and soul, between the material and the immaterial. From the content: Hans Goller SJ: Emotions. A link between the material and the immaterial; Wolf Langewitz: Psychosomatic Medicine. From Semiotics to New Phenomenology; Henriette Harich-Schwarzbauer: "I would rather err with Plato." Body and soul in Roman literature; Heinrich Koller: The Body-Soul Problem in Legal Science. A contribution to the image of humanity in law; Georg Pfleiderer: Man as a "living soul." A theological run of hope; Hans Landolt: Free access to the brain ... and where is the soul?.
