Blaeu. Atlas Maior

Joan Blaeu's Atlas Maior is one of the most elaborate works in the history of cartography. It was the most expensive book published in the 17th century, allowing its fortunate owners, primarily heads of state, to study the entire known world at that time through wonderful illustrations. This careful reprint of the colored and gold-embellished copy from the Austrian National Library in Vienna enables today's readers to hold this baroque masterpiece in their hands.
