Product details

A classic of literary modernism

Berlin Alexanderplatz is one of the most significant urban novels in world literature, alongside James Joyce's Ulysses and John Dos Passos' Manhattan Transfer. First published in 1929 by S. Fischer Verlag, the novel tells the moving story of Franz Biberkopf, who, after his release from prison, becomes entangled in a whirlwind of betrayal and crime. Additionally, the novel depicts Berlin in the 1920s and introduces, for the first time in German literature, a completely new language that captures the city's pace.

With an afterword by Moritz Bassler and Melanie Horn.
