Rolf Zuckowski was born in Hamburg in 1947. On May 12, 2022, he celebrated his 75th birthday. His musical career began in 1966 with the student band "the beAthovens." Later, he became a co-producer and lyricist for the Swiss trio "Peter, Sue & Marc" and wrote songs for artists including Nana Mouskouri, Paola, and the Finkwarder Speeldeel. His first and still successful children's album, "Rolfs Vogelhochzeit," was produced in 1977. However, his major breakthrough in the public eye came with the songs "Du da im Radio" (1981) and his appearance as "Rolf und seine Freunde" on "Wetten dass...?" with the title "...und ganz doll mich" (1982), which also reached No. 1 on the ZDF hit parade. This successful phase is represented by the two albums "Rolfs Radio Lollipop" and "Lieder, die wir Brücken sind (Neues von Radio Lollipop)," which together sold over 1 million copies and are now available together on a double album, finally back on vinyl. The gatefold and inner sleeves feature the original artworks of the original albums along with all the song lyrics. Despite the timelessness of other classics included here, such as "Wie schön, dass du geboren bist" and "Stups, der kleine Osterhase," this double LP offers a wonderfully nostalgic journey 40 years back, when important foundations for German-language children's music and family entertainment were laid.
