Amok PerVers

Martin Piekar speaks in his poems a radically subjective language that is aware of its formative structures at every moment. Whether linguistic or societal: he displays them, exploits them, writes against them, and thus moves between the private and the political. After Bastard Echo, AmokperVers is Piekar's second poetry collection published by Verlagshaus Berlin. When Piekar looks up in AmokperVers, he sees cloud formations, cloud form nations, cloud form rations - declensions of everyday language, its abysses, and its implications. The poems traverse Frankfurt am Main, through protests, financial districts, through a coma, through a rampage, and end in a madhouse. How can one not go crazy when it is so comfortable? Piekar's reality is always already digital, but never mediating, rather ruthless. He writes about sexuality, politics, fear - and none of it is abstract. Thus, AmokperVers names the present and rewrites it into a web of terms that sometimes express anger, sometimes emotion, sometimes tenderness. But never neutrality.
