Water is the defining element of the hike along the Albsteig: The 83 km long trail follows the Southern Black Forest Alb from its mouth into the Rhine at Albbruck to its source at Feldberg and Herzogenhorn. The challenging tour takes you through the uniquely beautiful, wild and romantic landscape along the mountain river, featuring babbling brooks, rushing waterfalls, shady forests, meandering streams, and steep gorges. It overcomes more than 2,700 meters of elevation, rewarding the effort with breathtaking views from the highest peaks, unique natural experiences, and a diverse landscape.
