Shocking Blue was a Dutch rock band from The Hague that reached the peak of their career in the 1960s and 1970s and enjoyed great success across the Atlantic. The band was formed in 1967, and after recruiting singer Mariska Veres, they quickly became very successful. With their single "Venus," they became the first Dutch band to ever reach number one on the American Billboard Hot 100. The band had a number of other hits but decided to disband in 1975. Their influence extended far beyond their generation; even bands like Nirvana and The Prodigy used Shocking Blue's "Love Buzz." Strangely, their third album is not their third studio album but their fourth, originally released in 1971. This reissue includes six bonus tracks, consisting of singles and B-sides, as well as a fold-out cover.
