Effects of environmental policy measures
GermanProduct details
In order to assess environmental policy measures, it is necessary to forecast not only the degree to which the objectives have been achieved but also the effects on the overall economic and ecological-technical system. Disaggregated macroeconometric models have proved particularly useful for this purpose. In a project initiated by the Federal Environment Agency, two different models were used in parallel for the first time in German-speaking countries. The reliability has been significantly improved. The model PANTA RHEI of the GWS (Osnabrück) and the model network of the RWI (Essen) were extended by the environmental areas water, climate, air and soil and then used for the simulation of the following environmental policy measures: eco-tax, land tax (in each case different variants), land supply restriction, CO2 tax. The book contains the description of the model structures, the representation of the simulations and a comparison.
