Product details
In Germany, according to the Federal Statistical Office, around 10 million people live with a disability, of which over 70% are considered severely disabled. The reality of life for these individuals often significantly depends on what is known as rehabilitation law, literally the "right to restoration." This pertains to social benefits that disabled individuals can receive in order to participate in life as independently and equally as possible. The options for so-called medical, vocational, and social rehabilitation are diverse but also complex. While rehabilitation law is regulated in the Ninth Book of the Social Code (SGB IX), there are seven possible rehabilitation providers, each with different regulations regarding who can receive what benefits under which conditions. This textbook is aimed at aspiring and currently practicing professionals.
