The work provides a detailed and in-depth introduction to the field of identification of dynamic systems. The aim of all methods is to determine a mathematical model of a technical or non-technical system on the basis of measured input and output signals, which describes the actual behaviour as well as possible. Identification methods for linear and non-linear single and multi-variable systems are treated. The result is usually a time-discrete system model. In many cases, however, it is more advantageous to determine the parameters of time-continuous system models, since these allow direct statements about physical properties of the investigated system. Numerous examples and appendices also allow the interested reader to study them on his own.
