Product details

Probably inspired by the traumatic separation from his fiancée Felice Bauer in July 1914, Kafka wrote the "Process" in the years 1914 to 1916, without finalizing the text and determining the exact order of the chapters: On the morning of his 30th birthday, the bank procurator Josef K. is arrested for no apparent reason. However, he remains at large. At first still confident that he could clear up the obvious misunderstanding, K. became more and more involved in the desperate attempt to gain knowledge of the indictment and access to the Court. Again and again summoned to absurd interrogations in labyrinthine offices and confronted with bizarre civil servants, K. inexorably drives towards an end that is as grotesque as it is catastrophic.
