This book is the first volume of the eight-volume edition of the works of the Russian philosopher Simon L. Frank (1877-19509. For Dmitri Chizevsky, this work, first published in 1915, is "probably the most important book of Russian literature in the 20th century". In it, the author set forth the epistemological rationale of his religious-philosophical, metaphysical, social-philosophical, and psychological thoughts. In the editioin is planned the publication of Frank's works on anthropology, social philosophy and ethics, philosophy of religion and questions of contemporary history.
