Merino wool also has the ability to wick away moisture. It is fireproof - its chemical structure is proven to be fire resistant. Unlike cotton, which ignites at 225 °C, merino wool only ignites at 570-600 °C. Merino wool acts as a natural UV barrier - it protects against the sun and is therefore the choice for spending time outdoors. Merino wool has antibacterial and antifungal properties - the waxes obtained from sheep are highly hypoallergenic. It protects against dust and dust mites. Merino wool stays clean - it is dirt-repellent. Its natural protective layer prevents stains from being absorbed. Merino wool is naturally antistatic and therefore does not attract dust or fluff.
