A tale from the East: In Nicaea lives a peculiar old man. He is small and hunchbacked with a head that is far too large, and on it, he wears an even bigger turban. Teased and chased by the children, he captivates them one day with an impressive story - his life story: Once upon a time, there was a simple little boy named Muck. After the death of his father, he is chased out of the house by wicked relatives. He moves into the desert and mistakes every shard of glass for a diamond. How will he survive in the world? Will he find happiness in a foreign land? Will buried treasures, a mysterious fig tree, and magical shoes lead him to his goal? How will he defend himself against malice and suspicion?.
