What does "Medium: PKC" mean? How old can the previous version be when upgrading or when do I have to buy a full version again?

PKC means Product Key Card. This is a card with a serial number.

In terms of licensing law, you only need the full version if you come from a product of another provider. Since it is recommended to uninstall the old version anyway, it is not checked whether a previous version was available. As I said, this is only the case under licensing law.
