What does "import" mean for Canon lenses? How does this affect warranty and cash back? Why are the import lenses cheaper?

"Imported" means that the lenses have been imported from abroad. Imported lenses are excluded from both the Canon Swiss Premium Guarantee and the Cashbacks. The lenses therefore have a normal 2-year warranty and function exactly the same as the Swiss versions.
