Ueli Scheidegger I have neither a landline nor a TV connection in my holiday home. Can I use the D-Link router to access the GSM network via the SIM card and thus access the Internet wirelessly?

That is exactly the idea of this router. However, I would no longer buy this model, it is already 10 years old and no longer uses the latest 4G standards, let alone 5G. This means that with this device you will be slowed down in terms of speed at best. It would also be interesting to know whether there are still updates for a 10-year-old device.
My PWR-921 gave up the ghost years ago. After that device, I switched to a Huawei B525s. In the meantime, I use the ZTE MC801A (https://www.digitec.ch/de/s1/product/zte-mc801a-router-24531857), which is up to date. In addition to 3G and 4G, it also supports the much faster 5G. Hence my recommendation.
