Aten CS1308 KVM Switch VGA
Aten CS1308 KVM Switch VGA
Stupid question: How can the individual PCs be controlled via mouse/keyboard if the PCs are only connected to the switch via VGA?
The device comes with a cabe for the console port on itself, this assures you can connect a monitor and mouse and keyboard to it, and then you need additional cables that plugin into the other ports for the computers you need to control with it (1 to 8 in this model).
The additional cables have the proprietary connector for the device at one end and at the other end it has vga for video and usb for mouse and keyboard.
The proprietary connector that looks like vga, it is not vga. It handles vga and usb, but usb only for peripherals, signal wise.
In the Accessories section of the product, lower on the page you will find the cables with the usb connector and all this will make sense.
In terms of connecting the vga video connector to some other type, you can find adapters for them. I use several vga to display port and they work fine.
Best of wishes,
Alex
Hello Ju85
That actually doesn't work ;-)
You need a special connection cable, e.g: Aten 2L-5201U
