Is it true that the headset does not have surround sound?

My comment unfortunately leads to some confusion, sorry 😅 The Arctis 7P was primarily designed for the PlayStation 5, which has its own built-in 3D spatial audio system, and that's also the reason why the headset doesn't support DTS surround sound on PC. It seems that the two audio systems can't exist in one headset at the same time, or it has something to do with licences. So if you mainly play on PC and virtual surround is important to you, the regular Arctis 7 might be the better choice.

Of course, the Arctis 7P supports the 3D sound of the Playstation 5 - I think that's also the reason why this "P" variation exists at all.

Hmm...gem. der Hersteller Website: "*Fully compatible with PlayStation 5's Tempest 3D AudioTech" (siehe https://steelseries.com/gaming-hea...)

Exactly, the Arctis 7P unfortunately does not support virtual surround sound, as this would apparently have led to conflicts with the 3D audio functionality of the Playstation. If this feature is important to you, I can recommend the "original" Arctis 7, which supports DTS Surround Sound Headphone: X v2.0:
