Sorry, something must have gone wrong :o) I wanted to ask if it is worthwhile or makes sense to operate the CCU3 in addition to the access point?
Thank you for your help.
If you choose the Homematic IP Access Point, you have a cloud solution and then also an app to monitor and control the actuators from anywhere. With the Homematic IP Access Point you can only use Homematic IP products. Nothing works without the Internet. No scripts are possible. Only what is offered in the cloud for "clicking together" is possible.
If you decide on a CCU3, then you have a Pi3 in a smart housing. You can find various apps in the App Store to monitor and control your actuators from the internal network or via VPN from anywhere. You can script, click together and link devices directly with each other, which means that the functionality is also available without internet access. The direct links also work when the CCU3 is not running. You can use Homematic and Homematic IP products (note: direct links are only possible between Homematic-Homematic and HomematicIP-HomematicIP products).
