Some providers offer a 5-year warranty (all risk). At Digitec it's the usual 24 months, isn't it?
Yes, it is 24 months. You can, however, choose a warranty extension when purchasing (for a fee, of course).
If you buy the camera from a pro dealer, i.e. where editors, agencies and professionals buy their cameras, you pay slightly more, but you usually get a whole range of benefits, e.g. a higher price:
- for Sony Alpha 4 instead of 2 years warranty
- included sesor cleaning
- Replacement camera during repair
- 100% guarantee on CH goods directly from the manufacturer
- free testing of lenses before possible purchase
Of course, these additional features differ again depending on the dealer, manufacturer and model. Of course, I would prefer to buy everything at Digitec, but for certain indispensable equipment, you have to look elsewhere - and that can be worthwhile.
