Question about Microsoft Windows 11 Pro

Since I want to upgrade my Windows 11 home to pro, I ordered it from you. To my surprise, a DVD arrives in the post. With a Surface Pro this is a problem. Now it has a product key with it, which I entered, however it does not accept it. Now I have discovered the abbreviation OEM in the description. Is that why it doesn't work? What do I have to do differently?

You can also download Win11 onto a stick as an iso file from Microsoft.
Search for MediaCreationToolw11.exe.

You can choose whether you want to save the ISO file on DVD or USB (min. 8 GB).
This will allow you to overwrite your old operating system. Simply insert the stick before starting.
If it does not start directly from the stick, you must set the Bios or UEFI accordingly.

PS: I also bought Windows 11 Pro, but installed Windows 10 with this licence anyway. That worked out great.
Later you can simply upgrade to Windows 11.

I had exactly the same problem with the Microsoft Surface Laptop Studio when connecting it to the domain. Windows did not accept the specially purchased Win11 Pro licence key (even with the OEM sticker). So I bought a more expensive key from the MS Store, but unfortunately the "Enterprise" edition was installed instead of the selected Pro variant. So the key could not be activated - but the OEM key was. Conclusion: Delivering such an expensive device only with Windows Home is almost a rip-off. Something similar has never happened to me in several years with Apple. But the device is great, I can recommend it. The price/performance ratio would be right if you exclude the annoying additional costs due to duplicate licences.
