Do the adapter and e.g. the PC have to be connected to the same WLAN? Is it connected to WLAN at all? Can I, for example, work on the PC with a VPN connection and transfer the picture 1:1 to the TV?

Helpful answer

Neither the adapter nor the PC require a WLAN connection. The connection between the adapter and the PC is made via a MIRACAST radio connection, which the adapter automatically establishes via the PC. However, this only works with Windows 8 or 10. The PC can be connected to the Internet at the same time, even via VPN - that is no problem.

I would like to add, based on my experience with Miracast (and other similar wireless technologies): Always test first! Today I no longer take a bag full of cables with me, but a bag full of sticks+co (AppleTV, Chromecast, 2 different Miracast etc.). Or just - tested 1:1 beforehand.
