Is the tripod equipped with the MVH500AH head? That is, fluid for both tilt AND pan?

With the head itself you can only tilt. Pan is achieved by turning the whole rod, which has a ball at the bottom. The rods can therefore be rotated around their own axis and, depending on the operating mode, also swivelled / tilted.
