Is the stepping P0 or R0? Since the stepping issue has a certain significance, as depending on the stepping of a processor, different BIOS versions are required for all (newer) mainboards, so much for that. All manufacturers say that it's no problem, that you can at least get to the BIOS, where you can install the required BIOS version if necessary. According to reports on the internet, however, this does not seem to apply without restrictions. There is a P0, R0 , U0 etc. next to the designation in brackets, which indicates the stepping version. The designations of the CPU are different, e.g. SRELU for the i5-9600K with PO and SRG11 for the one with R0. This designation (SRELU or SRG11) is printed on each processor, so it is easy to determine which one you have. For the i9-9900k, the designations are SRELS for P0 and SRG19 for R0. Unfortunately, the product description here does not show this designation (a look at the package would suffice, I suppose), only a manufacturer's number, which is not clear, so we can continue to guess.
I bought my i9 about 2 months ago. According to CPU-Z, the stepping is P0. Unfortunately, I can't tell you whether this is still current.
