Question about Cooler Master MasterFan MF120 Halo
Is it still the version with the old RGB controller that is delivered or is it the version with the new RGB Gen 2 controller that is in stock? If it is still the old version, do you know when the new version will be available?
The kit that I received today (21.10.2021) still contains the old Gen 1 controller (manufactured before June 1, 2021) and the aRGB Gen 2 controller.
In any case, the one I received today (21.10.2021) still contains the old Gen 1 controller (manufactured before 1 June 2021).
Unlike the Gen 2 controller (manufactured after June 1, 2021), it is not possible to use the "MasterPlus+" software to customize the colours on a motherboard that does not have a dedicated aRGB connector.
The Gen 2 version, on the other hand, can be connected to a USB header on any motherboard and is thus recognised by the software.
The catch is that Cooler Master sells both versions with exactly the same EAN/UPC and Product Number.
Only the product images and the specifications on the box can tell the difference.
