Question about Nikon Z8
Is it really worth switching from the Z7 to the Z8 for faster autofocus? I mainly shoot fast moving objects.
Yes, definitely. I had the Z7 II and now the Z9, and the autofocus is identical. And they really are WORLDS apart!
Absolutely!
I shoot a lot of handball, which is a very fast sport. The autofocus of the Z8 is outstanding. I'm always amazed at how great the tracking is. And it does this without any problems at 20 frames/sec - every image is sharp (at around 1/1000)
Of course it's worth it if the Z7 can't keep up. You notice this immediately (even with the Z7, when it is overloaded). The Z7 is really not a camera with fast autofocus. Which raises the question of what "fast-moving" means for you. It's fine for a surprising amount of moving objects, but the border from "fast" to "too fast" comes quickly :)
Z8 is in a different league.
