Only if the operating system can do a software raid. The question is whether your configuration makes sense. If you already have the disc, perhaps. If not yet: the larger discs are sometimes faster and have a larger cache. And one disc is easier to handle than several. We only bought the card because we didn't have a proper slot. But it works as advertised.
