Question about Microsoft Surface Book 3

Is it possible to connect the tablet (i.e. the upper part without the base/keyboard) to the Surface Dock 2 and from there a second monitor and a USB hub for keyboard, headset, mouse? Or does that only work if you connect the "whole Book"? I can't find the info anywhere.
