Question about Garmin HRM-Dual

Is anyone else having problems with the HRM Dual strap? I ordered it in a package with the Garmin Edge 830. The first tests ran without any problems. On the second bike tour, the heart rate suddenly stopped. It worked again during the next training session. Since then, the pulse has simply stopped every second tour. I have already changed the batteries. Unfortunately it didn't help. During the tests at home it always ran without problems. Could it have something to do with the thick winter clothing?

Helpful answer

No problem at all up to now. I use it with a Garmin 800, a Fenix 6 Pro, an iPad and a Kettler treadmill.
I wear the Dual chest strap when I go backcountry skiing so it’s got quite some layers over it (and a Barryvox just near) and still works no prob. No idea why it’s behaving like that.

Garmin's response was: "Very cold weather, as well as certain fabrics in shirts, can cause the heart rate strap to not work properly. Synthetic fabrics can rub against the heart rate sensor, creating static electricity that affects the signal."

Today on my midday ride at -1 degrees and wearing the same clothes, the heart rate measurement or display worked without any problems. Very special. And although it may be the clothes, you can hardly get past synthetic material. So there is a pattern but unfortunately I still don't know the exact cause. Maybe the problem has been solved. We'll see on the next tour.
