If I want to switch off the system, i.e. if there are guests in the holiday home, is it enough to interrupt the power supply to the base station? Or will this put too much strain on the batteries of the cameras?

Hi, I'm not sure if the camera really doesn't need power as described by ryma54 above. I run the Arlo on a Netgear R7000 router - it runs during the day and I think the Arlo keeps contact with the router - which leads to power consumption on the part of the Arlo. And presumably the more difficult the radio link is between the router and the ARlo, the more energy intensive. (analogue to a mobile phone). I also think it's a shame that the Arlo itself doesn't have a switch.

Hello Patrick,
When the cameras are inactive, i.e. when no one is accessing them, they do not consume any power. The batteries are also not used when the power supply to the router is interrupted. The cameras only use power when someone is watching something or when they are recording. So it would be enough if you just set the mode accordingly.
