I would like to connect the display to my MacBook Pro (Retina, mid 2012) with 2 Thunderbolt2. what is the best way to do this so that I only have one cable and then the keyboard etc. is attached to the display?

It's very simple. As soon as you connect the Thunderbolt (USB Type-C) to your MacBook, all USB ports on the display also connect to your laptop.

I have a keyboard and a mouse on this screen that run directly through my Lenovo laptop when I connect the screen via Thunderbolt.
