Question about MadCatz RAT 8+

I recently bought (and returned) a RAT PRO x3. The thumb buttons could not send a continuous signal when the button was pressed. The signal was sent once initially and then only again when the button was released and pressed again. (The equivalent of a single keystroke). Is that the same with this one? I had an R.A.T. 7 for a long time and it worked without any problems (but that was before the bankruptcy and refresh).
