I received the lens but there is no seal on the box (no silver tape, no logo etc.) is this normal?

Unfortunately, yes, the seal is only on the camera packaging, it is missing on the lenses.
That surprised me the other day, but it makes sense, because you're more likely to take the lens out of the box to test it before you buy it. With cameras, it's easier to use the original, as there is much less variation in the series.
